Nicole's Journal : Pool Drama!

Nigerians and their over sabi (too forward) attitude.
Today after my work out session..my trainer suggested that I swim a bit since it's been a while I did.
Due to the busy nature of the gym..he won't get into the pool with me but will just observe and correct me where necessary!  (remember my post on swimming lessons)

I get into the pool and start swimming..
there comes this guy from the gym..
and says to me..why are you only swimming the breadth of the pool why not take the whole length...
( In my mind. I go how does it affect you)

Anyhuu.. I say to him..leave me be .. this is how I want to swim...He now says.. that's lazy!

OMG I was beyond shook..like..how is that even your problem?!..the uncle continues to castigate  me!

So I ask do you know how to swim?!. he says no that if he did..he will do the whole length of the pool

I decided to ignore his rumblings and continue with my swimming..the next thing I see this uncle with his swim suit and then goes ...you will see me now..am coming into the pool..I will show you how it's done..just wait ... watch and see

Oh..he knows how to swim after al.. I thought

This pot belly..round figured and average height man jumps into the pool ..guess what happens next?! He was  struggling and fighting with the water..the pool instructor had to jump in to his rescue.. He was drowning literally🤣😂
guess at what level..'3ft' 🤗

God Forgive me..but I just burst out with laughter...couldn't help myself..it was an interesting sight!

People ran to his side.. sure he drank a lot of water..cos he kept coughing and throwing up🤣🤣

I know this is not funny but it was funny..am even laughing now as I type...after he came to, he also joined me in laughing at himself!

One lady almost beat me that it's not funny..had to update her on the talk preceding the incident!

The man can't swim..instead of respecting himself and stay off he decided to embarrass his village people!

He couldn't even stand inside the water..one of the guys had to explain to him the different levels and the point where he was is the shallow part and it's easy to just stand even if he can't swim!

Anyway..he was alright when I left..and the whole saga ended my pool session!

Hmmmn where do I start from... Some time last month ..I took up the courage to apply for a teaching course in yoga and got in..hence the silence here! I've had an interest in the practice for quite a while..when the opportunity came up to learn how to teach yoga...I jumped on it I most say it's been 5 weeks of intense ..deep ..and whatever adjective you can think of....work ! I've learnt so much..it may not seem like such a big deal but believe me when I say it's huge! Never knew yoga was that deep..when I took up the course..in my mind it was just a regular work out routine since  fitness is my forte.. It  will be easy (I said to myself) afterall it's all about the physical work but..who sigh!.. It goes beyond that.. there is the mental and emotional as well..relating to ones self... we had to learn and unlearn and learn again..from self discovery to the physical practise ...anatomy and physiology to meditation...awareness and a whole lot more.... ...

Nicole's Journal... Friends Who Marry and Cut You Off Because You Are Single!!!

Okay...so I never understand this thing girls do.. Why is it that when your single friends get married they cut you off cause in their head you are bad luck and it's a taboo to hang around single girls seeing that they have left the single girls club! That's how a friend of mine used me during her wedding planning but the moment the wedding was over  'puff' she was gone with the wind...like I am some sort of plaque! I didn't hear from her again until she needed me for her baby's dedication! (story for another day!) Recently I bought an asoebi from a friend of a mutual friend.. I was practically forced to get it...guess what....I didn't get invited for the wedding! I'm wondering if any one has experienced such before..so they reach out to you to get asoebi but forget to send you an invitation for the D-day Funny yea!? Arrrgh 🤣🤣🤣 I'm going to spare y'all the details..not important!

Hey Guys, And here’s why. Every morning that I can remember until I was 41, I woke up to the voice of my mother singing Happy Birthday to me. Be it when I was a kid in my room or when I was older and had moved away, she would call on the phone and sing her heart out. How I miss her voice, off key and all... lol. All of that to say that anytime I hear some individual sing it to me, it reminds me that she's not here anymore. Sure saying it is fine, but the song… well, hearing it sung by one person makes me sad. I don't mind a group singing it so much, but one singular voice haunts me.   Just by natural reflex I woke up this morning, being half asleep, I reached for the phone to see if she had left a message, but then I realized that she died 6 years ago.
